IKEA installs Minnesota's largest Rooftop Solar PV Project

Swedish Furniture Giant IKEA is taking it's green initiatives to all new highes by installing the largest roof top solar project in Minnesota.

Project in a Nutshell:
- Nameplate Capacity: 1,014KW
- Location: Twin Cities store in Bloomington, Minnesota,US
- Area covered: 142,000 Sqft
- EPC Company: SoCore Energy
- Number of PV Modules: 4,316

Thanks to this latest installation, 70% of its stores in the US are now powered by their own rooftop Solar PV system. Also IKEA is still planning eight more projects which will take their solar installed stores to nearly 89% of the total stores and a capacity of 38MW of Solar power in their rooftops.

It's not just in US, the Furniture giant IKEA has a renewable action plan by which they are planning to install Solar modules and Wind turbines in all major stores accross the world. Currently IKEA has installed nearly 250,000 PV modules accross the globe.
