Sheep and Goat breeders in Himachal Pradesh, a hilly state in India will not be in darkness anymore thanks to the Solar Lanterns that they are set to recieve.
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has sanctioned 1.07 Crores towards the Himachal state government under the Energy conservation scheme.
About 4400 solar lanterns are set to be given to the breeders and these will be provided by Himurja, a state run agency that is promoting the use of Renewable Energy.
Also according to Deccan Herald, Himachal Pradesh has developed a master plan to promote non-conventional energy and is developing two solar-powered towns - Shimla and Hamirpur.
