Pathan was stricked with this idea, when he invented the solar powered bike about a year ago. About 600 LEDs were utilized to make the entire Ganapathi structure. The solar battery which power's the Idol takes about six to seven hours to get fully charged and running. Also Pathan explains that this battery can power an average indian household for about one day on one complete charging. He has also integrated a memory card/thumb drive slot into the Ganpati unit which can play 101 aartis(songs) on a go.

Pathan's two foot high Solar Ganapathi has an estimated cost of Rs. 17,000. Pathan says that he had received 25 orders from individuals as well as mandals in the city. He also said that after the festival, he will donate the solar model to the Dagdusheth Halwai Trust, a popular Mandal in Pune.
