VolksWagen Factory to be powered by Solar Modules

VolksWagen the name synonimous for it's Automobiles are going green by installing the largest Solar installation in Tennessee in their Enterprise South industrial park factory.

Project details in a Nutshell:
- Capacity: 9.85MW
- Number of Solar Modules: 33,600
- Area: 65 acre
- Project cost: $30 Million
- EPC: Pheonix Solar

Tennessee's largest solar park currently is a 5MW facility in West Tennessee, which will be overtaken by VW's Solar project once it's construction finishes later this year.

The modules are placed on a 25 degree fixed tilt ground mounted installation to maximize its position relative to the sun. They are planning to complete the project by installing with a rate of 150 panels a day.

VW had already installed solar modules at other factories in Spain and Germany. It's not just VW, retail giants like IKEA are also into Solar in a big way.
