Alternate and New & Renewable Energy Sources may be considered as a MoU Performance Measurement Tool for Central PSU's

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Guidelines for the year 2012-13 issued by Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) for all Central Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) prescribe details for the R&D parameter. This is a Tool by which the DPE's can asses the performance Central PSU's.   

Recently DPE listed out suggested activities that can be included in the Guideline for Research & Development (R&D), which can be taken as a parameter to monitor the Central PSU's. This also includes Alternate and New & Renewable Energy Sources, under the Power Generation & Transmission syndicate. If central PSUs are interested in generation of green energy, they can keep suitable parameters under MoU for performance measurement. 

How well are the PSU's Performing now?

According to Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's data, PSU's have installed 1,135 MW of Wind Projects and 27 MW of Solar Projects all over the Country.

Also BHEL currently have a Solar PV Cell and Module Manufacturing Plant, capable of Manufacturing 26MW. But Recently BHEL has announced it's plans to construct a
Solar Module & Cell  Manufacturing Facility Capable of producing up to 600 MW.

 NHPC, NTPC and THDC has taken up the following activities under Energy, Power Generation & Transmission Syndicate on the topic Alternate and New & Renewable Energy Sources for Performance Monitoring.
