ANERT to Develop 2MW Solar Project in Palakkad

ANERT, the Agency for Non-conventional Energy and Rural Technology, which is the Nodal agency for Renewable Energy in the State of Kerala has outlined it's plans to develop a 2 MW Solar PV Project in the State.

According to Dr. Jayaraju, the ANERT Director said, the Plant will be built in Kuzhalmannam in Palakkad this year itself. The Plant which will span on ANERT owned 13 acres of Land, will be developed with an estimated investment of Rs 24 crore. The Power Generated from the Plant will be sold to Kerala State Electricity Board, the lone distribution Utility in the State.

Kerala Rising as the Hotspot for Solar PV:

Anert's 10,000 Solar Home Project, which aims to install 1KW systems on Rooftops of 10,000 homes across the state has energized the whole Solar sector. According to the latest ANERT Data, 5,010 Applications has been received for the installation of 1KW systems. A total of 10MW of Distributed Solar Power be installed through out the state using this scheme. Also a 15 member list of empaneled agencies has been allotted by ANERT to implement this Project (link).
