The ANERT 10,000 Solar Project which has created a rapid uptick in interest on Solar Energy across the state was officially inaugurated by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, the Minister of New and Renewable Energy on Monday this week.
Kerala Chief Minister Sri. Oommen Chandy was also present on the Occasion. He Highlighted the fact that the state faced accute Power shortages and he believes Solar Power will pave the way to reduce the crises.
He also said, Kerala depends heavily on hydro electric power projects for electricity and added that once Kerala used to save and give electricity to
neighboring states, but now the condition has changed. Due to
environmental problems we could not start new hydro power projects.
Taking this situation into consideration, we should be able to
effectively utilize energy sources like solar and wind.
