Gamesa inks 2.4 GW O&M deal from Iberdrola

Gamesa has announced that it has received a 2,394 MW Wind O&M contract from Iberdrola for Wind Farms in Portugal, Spain and Hungary. 

According to the contract Gamesa will provide O&M services to a total of 80 Wind Farms of Iberdrola through out Spain and Portugal. The company will handle maintenance for three years - with an option to extend the deal for another two years on 1,143 Gamesa 2.0 MW turbines. 

In addition, Iberdrola awarded Gamesa a contract to manage operation and maintenance services at three Iberdrola wind farms in Hungary which have combined installed capacity of 108 MW. Under the terms of the agreement, the company will maintain 54 Gamesa 2.0 MW turbines for three years, with an option to extend the deal for another two years.


Gamesa manages maintenance on 6,000 MW of Iberdrola-owned turbines worldwide. The companies in late 2011 signed a framework agreement through which Iberdrola awarded Gamesa a three-year maintenance contract on 1,748.3 MW of Gamesa 650 kW and 850 kW machines in Spain and Portugal.
