BHEL to Launch Steam Turbines to focus on Concentrated Solar Power

Concentrated Solar Power is growing in a big way in India and understanding this opportunity  BHEL has unveiled it's plan's to develop Steam Turbines to cater more to the CSP Market. 


The New BHEL Steam Turbine is expected to have a capacity of 50MW  N. Ravi Chander, Executive Director of BHEL’s Hyderabad unit said to Hindu, “This can be useful for concentrated solar power plants. We are in talks with several solar power operators. We are confident of securing a few orders for the product this fiscal,”.
BHEL Marching into the Solar Market:
Recently BHEL had also announced a massive 2000 crore investment in Solar PV Manufacturing Space, which would see the company install 600 MW Solar PV Module Manufacturing facility (link). BHEL, which is mainly focused on the Power sector, has also plans to be a complete Solar Value Chain Provider by Manufacturing Solar Cells and Wafers along with Modules and provide EPC Solar services. Sooner or later they will enter the Solar BOS Components also in a big way.
