Godawari Green Energy's 50MW Solar Thermal Power Plant to be live by next month

Hailed as India's first Solar Thermal Power Plant the Godawari Green Energy Ltd's 50MW Solar Thermal Power Plant, which started construction on January 2011, is all set to become online by end of next month. 


The Parabolic Trough Technology based Project is under construction in Naukh village located in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan and is reported to be the first plant in the country.  According to Business Standard the HIRA group, which is the stakeholder Godawari Green Energy Ltd has invested close to 700 crore on the project. Also the group has signed a PPA with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN).

Dinesh Agrawal and Abhisekh Agrawal, the directors of Hira Group (link) said to Business Standard, "The project of thermal solar power plant is ready and we are planning to commission it next month,". The company is seeking President Pranab Mukherjee's date to start the plant, they added.
