Tata Power to build 28.8 MW Solar PV Project in Maharashtra

As a part of it's target of meet its clean energy capacity (RPO), Tata Power plans to set up a 28.8 MW solar plant near Satara, Maharashtra this year. This is Tata's second Solar Project in the state of Maharashtra and forth major solar project in the country. 

S. Ramakrishnan, Executive Director (Finance) told PTI , This will be our second solar plant in Maharashtra. We will be spending over Rs. 230 crore this fiscal for setting up the project,”.
Currently, the company has a 3-MW project at Mulshi in Maharashtra and a 25-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project at Mithapur in Gujarat. Also, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd, had also commissioned a 1-MW grid connected rooftop solar power plant in Delhi.
Also According to Hindu, the company has announced that they have partnered with Sunengy, a floating CPV system manufacturer based in Australia.  As a part of the partnership the companies will build a floating Solar Power Project in Mulshi.
Tata Power has set a target of generating 26,000 MW by 2020 and intends to have a 20-25 per cent contribution from clean power sources.
The company will also be adding 200 MW of wind energy in this fiscal, Mr. Ramakrishnan said. “Currently, we have an installed capacity of 376 MW and plants spread across four states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. We will be adding another 200 mw in this fiscal,” he said.
