India's biggest Floating Solar power plant Inaugurated in Kerala

The Minister of Power(Kerala) Shri.MM Mani inaugurated the floating solar plant at Banasura Sagar dam in Wayanad district on December 4, 2017.





The floating solar plant has a capacity of 500 kilowatts. This is the country's largest floating solar plant. The solar plant is located in 18 concrete floors constructed in ferosiment technology. The plant consists of 1938 solar panels with 260 watt capacity, 500 KVA transformer and 17 inverter's of 30 Kw.

The unique feature of this plant is the anchoring mechanism to maintain the plant with the alteration of the water level. The total cost of the project generating 7 lakh units per annum is Rs 925 lakh.
