South American nation Chile and India have planned to work together on renewable energy development, including solar PV and Wind power in both the countries.
Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs Alfredo Moreno Charme met the Indian Minister for New & Renewable Energy- MNRE, Dr. Farooq Abdullah to discuss on the power development oppurtunities available in both countries.
Indian delegation highlighted on what India had achieved in the rrecent years, all in the field of renewable energy by focusing on the success of JNNSM and suggested to the Chilean delegation for an exchange of expertise and investments between the both countries.
Dr. Abdullah also said during the meeting that in support of the UN Declaration assigning 2012 as the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All, India will be holding an seminar on energy access in New Delhi.
