India leads the concentrated solar heating Market - MNRE

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, MNRE has said that India has emerged as the world's largest concentrated Solar Heating Market, by installing over 80 different concentrated solar heating applications.

Cooking has emerged as the major application and most of these are large scale institutional cooking systems similar to one used in Tirupati and Sai Ashram.

MNRE says that Indian CSH market is about 2,000-3,000 square metres a year of the concentrated area. It also expects that the CSH Market in India is likely to touch 15,000 square metres by 2016.

Earlier this month MNRE had released List of Manufacturers of Concentrated Solar systems for steam cooking, Process heat/cooling.Most of them Utilize Single axis tracked Scheffler dishes, followed by Single axis tracked parabolic troughs.
