One of Renew India Campaign's volunteers were present at Agritech India 2012, One of Indias largest Agriculure shows at Bangalore. Though there was a great deal of new technologies in the Agri sector, the one which amazed us was the Solar powered milking machine.
The impact it brought to the crowd was pretty amazing.
This new Milking Machine by Siddon Biotek contains a Solar Module, which can be connected using cables to Batteries, which inturn charges the Batteries, which runs the Machine. This Milking Machine is priced at Rs. 70,000 ($1250) and is eligible for Karnataka Milk federation subisidy upto half the price. It's batteries may be also charged using Diesel gen sets. Lifeway Solar, a major Solar solutions provider in Kerala has also has a similar product.
In India Milking is still following the century old processes, but starting from a decade back milking machines are growing in a rapid rate in the Country.
