Electric Scooter and Wheelchair manufacturing plant coming up in Angamaly

Angamaly, a town in the outer suburbs of Cochin, largest city in South Indian state of kerala is set to recieve a Electric scooter and a wheelchair manufacturing plant.

The plant will be built with a total investment of Rs. 100 crores. In the first phase nearly Rs. 33.5 crores will be spend. The factory will function in Inkel's existing building complex in Angamaly. In the first phase of operation, the company will start utilizing 10,000sqft space and during the second phase 50,000sqft space will also be required.

The factory will owned and operated by Parallel Intelligent Transportation. The company officials said during Emerging Kerala 2012 meet that they are planning to manufacture scooters and wheelchairs utlizing German technology. They also said they have identified suppliers in Germany, Taiwan and China and they will assemble these parts at the Angamaly assembly line.

Firstly the company plans to introduce a 250 watt electric motor powered scooter, which will have a top speed of 25Km/hr. Later they will bring their 500 watt scooter which boasts a top speed of 40Km/hr.

The company also has plans to assemble electric powered wheelchairs.
