APTRANSCO receives more than 180 bids for the Solar PV Projects

APTRANSCO (link) has received over 180 bids for the 1GW Solar power projects to be developed across the state. 

Companies were allotted a time line till February 15th, 2013-3:00 PM for the submission of their respective bids. And according to Hindu, a total of 180+ bids were received, but the bid prices and names of companies participated in the bidding process are yet unknown. The final list of companies will be selected through Competitive bidding process. 

The Developer can select the Technology that they intend to follow. Also the Developer has the flexibility to choose the project site near an EHT substation and/or any of the 33/11 kV substations under the corresponding EHT substation or associated 33/11 kV substations.  Also the Developer shall be responsible for getting all statutory clearances from the concerned departments. The bidder will be able to develop projects ranging from 1 to 20MW. 

Andhra Gearing up for a Rise

The Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) had issued Regulation, mandating Renewable Power Purchase Obligation and its Compliance. This regulation mandates the DISCOMs, Open Access Consumers, Captive Consumers in the State, to consume a quantum of power not less than 5% of their consumption from RE sources. The said regulation also mandated to purchase a minimum of 0.25% solar power out of the 5% RPPO specified from Renewable Energy sources.
