Indian Suran Ventures picks up a part of Schott Solar's Module Line

Surana Solar Ventures, a Hyderabad based company said they had bought a line from the German company, Schott Solar, which had closed its PV operations, due to the Solar Module Price dip and slowing order book.

Currently Surana Solar has nearly 140MW Solar Production capacity and more than half of it will be contributed by addition of the new Schott Solar Line. Also to venture deep into the Indian Solar Market, they have offered to set up Solar Projects for Rs 6 crore/MW. The announcement has come at a time, where Solar Projects are being developed at about Rs 7-8 crore/MW in India.

While offering this plan Managing Director of Surana Ventures, Narender Surana said "We can compete against anybody, including the Chinese,". Also he said that the company will not even bill the customer for transportation for sites up to 600 km from Hyderabad.

Currently Surana Solar Ventures (link) is also developing two Solar Projects in Sadashivpet and Narsingi, near Hyderabad and both these projects are having 5MW installed capacity. Also they are planning to ramp up their development portfolio, which will see them add 125 MW in two years.
