First Solar, the world's largest Thin Film Module manufacturer has received two orders totaling 50 MW from Indian Solar Developers Mahindra Solar One and Kiran Energy.
Both Projects situated in Rajasthan fall under the JNNSM Scheme. The Collaborative Solar projects one 30MW and other 20MW are being developed by Mumbai-based Kiran Energy
and by Mahindra Solar One. The Two plants are expected to generate 85,000 MWh per year, which is equivalent of Powering
97,000 households and removing annual emision of 80,000 metric tons of CO2.
These Projects are expected to be on-line by Q1 2013. First Solar
is expected to supply 585,000 Thin Film Solar Modules for this Project.
First Solar also Introduced New Solar Module Globally:
First Solar, Inc. also released it's newly developed
thin-film photovoltaic (PV) module, the Series 3 FS-392
is rated at 92.5 watts. The new FS-392 module maintains all the existing
IEC certifications and UL listings for the Series 3 family, including UL
listing for 1000-volt systems.
