Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, has said in a Press Release, that it is considering private partners to develop Solar Projects in Metro Stations in Bangalore.
BMRC intends to obtain Expression of Interest from interested companies and/or consortium's as investors in order to shortlist experienced and capable applicants for the RFP stage of Solar PV systems for Depots of Namma Metro Project.
BMRC plans to develop the Solar projects through BOOT (Build Operate Own and Transfer) Mechanism. BMRC hints that the Concessionary period is likely to be 15 years. The Developer selected for the rooftop project shall set up a Rooftop Solar PV Project and sell on Commercial terms. Through this project BMRC plans installations of Solar Projects on Flat roofs of all the Metro Railway Depots.
Bangalore Metro also known as Namma Metro is a rapid transit system for the city of Bangalore, Karnataka.
