John Abraham, the dashing Bollywood star has announced his support for 'PowerLight A Village', an initiative to provide solar electricity to remote villages across the country, which was launched by Garnier Men which John endorses.
John Said “This is an amazing and powerful initiative, which will help us spread light across hundreds of villages by using natural resources like solar energy. I urge all my fans to support the cause and make difference and ‘take care’ of not only themselves but the ones around them as well,”
Garnier has collaborated with Project Chirag (link) as their implementation partner. The foundation has been championing the cause of rural electrification and has been instrumental in spreading light to over 125 Indian villages.
Enactus at H.R.College (earlier SIFE HRC) came up with a 5-point Rural Transformation Model, PROJECT CHIRAG, to tackle rural issues. This model deals with five areas-Environment, Education, Healthcare & Sanitation, Social upliftment, and Economic Empowerment, with the aim of truly "lighting up rural lives in India".
