Solar Cell research is heading a new way of incorporating advanced Technologies in Manufacturing space in order to reduce the cost and increase efficiency. The researchers in Palo Alto Research Center - PARC (link), a research lab of printing technology giant Xerox has unveiled a new printing technology for Solar Cells inspired by nothing but our small and humble 'Toothpaste'.

Scott Elrod, the director of PARC, said the new printing technology can increase the efficiency of Solar Cells by 5%. Through the Micron scale nozzle, the Solar printing technology creates a fine and Narrow Silver Grid lines which helps more absorption of Sunlight and thus resulting in increased efficiency. He also said PARC has tied up with a un-named Solar Cell manufacturer.
