The Chinese Automobile Maker BYD, which is partly owned by Warren Buffets, Berkshire Hathaway has announced it's plans to develop a 500 MW Solar PV Project in China.
The BYD 500MW Solar PV Project will be developed in Yulin, which is a city in China’s northwestern province of
Shaanxi.
Project Will be constructed in Phases:
BYD said that the Project will be constructed in Three Phases. The First phase will see installation of 200 MW of Solar PV Modules and this phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
With this Project BYD is making Clear it's Solar Plans. The Chinese Automaker BYD's subsidiary BYD Energy currently Manufactures Solar Cells, Modules and other BOS components like Inverter, Li-ion batteries and also LED lighting fixtures. Also BYD Energy recently supplied 110
megawatts or 458,000 Solar PV Modules to two South African Projects under the countries first Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Program (REIPPP).
