A Good News for Indian Green Buffs. Ministry of New and renewable Energy has announced that India's Installed Power Generation capacity has reached 11.2% of the total installed Power Capacity.
According to the latest data, the present installed capacity in India is 2,12,829 MW of which Renewable's contribute 26,920 MW or 11.2%.
Also the
Ministry has projected a capacity addition of about 29,800 MW from
renewable energy sources during 12th Plan period. It is expected that
the contribution of renewable power in the total installed capacity
would be in the range of 16 to 17% at the end of 12th Five Year Plan.
