Mahindra & Mahindra (popularly known as M&M), a major automobile manufacturer in India is planning to enter the Electric Vehicle sector in a big way. M&M which is currently the owner of a popular electric vehicle brand Reva is planning to introduce Electric power compact pick up truck GIO next year.
Reva will provide the power train and battery systems. Rest of the components of Gio EV are derived from the Gio Diesel version. M&M is also planning to introduce hybrid version of their popular MUV brand Bolero by next year.
Also Reva is expected to release its compact car NXR shortly. REVA is expecting to sell 5000 units of NXR a year.
