Italy according sources, has revealed it's plan to implement the $1.2 Billion Conto Energia Termico Subsidy Program which aims to push the Solar space heating and cooling and water heating technologies in the Country.
The Subsidy which is expected to start by January 2013, was earlier approved by three ministries in November and by the State-Regions Conference in Italy. And these Subsidies will be provided not as Cash but as levy on Natural Gas Usage Tariffs. The Conto Energia Termico Subsidy Program can be categorized into two Sections:
Solar Thermal: The Subsidy will be valid for solar thermal Technologies, which include biomass boilers, heat pumps and water heaters and this will be valid for both Private as well as Public Usage.
Energy Efficiency: These Subsidy will be valid for Space heating and Cooling systems and this will be limited to the public administration only.
About $260 million will be invested as subsidies for public Administrations and $930 million on private projects. Also Heating and Cooling system subsidies vary based on it's size. Heating Systems with collector space less than 50 m2 will
receive approx $ 450/sq meter and will be spanned over two years, and cooling
systems will receive $ 590/Sq meter.
Heating systems larger than 50 m2 is expected to receive $360/Sq meter and the cooling systems are expected to receive $550/Sq meter and both of these subsidies will be paid over five years.
